Assassination of Rosa Pretell
Rosa Pretell, the supervisor of the women's boarding school at the UNE, was assassinated on September 4, 1991. Rosa Pretell, supervisora del Internado de mujeres de la Universidad Nacional de Educación (UNE), fue asesinada el 4 de septiembre de 1991. El PCP-SL reivindicó el crimen alegando que Pretell colaboraba con el Ejército brindando información sobre los internos. Según testimonios, ella era percibida como una soplona que reportaba a las Fuerzas Armadas, lo que generaba un clima de miedo entre las estudiantes que temían ser acusadas de senderistas si ella las observaba de manera sospechosa.
