Third visit to the Asháninka zone
Third visit of the TRC to the Asháninka zone of the Central Jungle, carried out between November 19 and December 9, 2002, to interview inhabitants and authorities of the communities affected by the internal armed conflict.
The Truth and Reconciliation Commission made its third visit to the Asháninka area of the Central Jungle between November 19 and December 9, 2002. This visit was part of a series of four visits made on three separate dates to interview villagers and authorities of the Asháninka communities. The objective was to discuss with them the results of the reports on the internal armed conflict that severely affected this indigenous population. The visits focused on the areas that concentrate most of the Asháninka population in the Selva Central region and that were directly affected by the internal armed conflict.
