Criminal Chamber definitively closes Castillo Paez case due to res judicata in military jurisdiction
The 1st Criminal Chamber of the Superior Court of Lima declared the exception of res judicata filed by Víctor Vargas Giraldés and José Emilio Campos Chira to be founded, alleging that the War Chamber of the Supreme Council of Military Justice had already tried and sentenced them for the same facts. As a result, the criminal proceeding was definitively filed in the ordinary jurisdiction, consolidating impunity in the case.
