Law No. 26345 on the term of validity of the repentance law

Law that established the term of validity of the law of repentance, a rule of penal law that allowed the reduction or exemption of penalties for terrorism in exchange for collaboration with the authorities.

Law No. 26345 was enacted on August 30, 1994 during the government of Alberto Fujimori. This law established the term of the law of repentance, which was part of the anti-terrorist legal framework implemented after the 1992 coup d'état. The Law of Repentance was a rule of penal law that allowed for the reduction, exemption or remission of sentences for persons convicted of terrorism in exchange for information or collaboration. This legislation sought to encourage those in subversive organizations to leave them by providing relevant information.
