The Battle of Molinos
The Battle of Molinos on April 28, 1989, marked a significant event in the history of the Movimiento Revolucionario Túpac Amaru (MRTA) in the Junín region of Peru. This battle served as a turning point, dividing the MRTA's activities in the region into two distinct phases. The first phase, from 1988 to 1989, was characterized by a predominance of peasant and popular composition, while the second phase focused on political and military strategies that allowed the MRTA to continue its operations until 1997.
La llamada «batalla de Molinos», ocurrida el 28 de abril de 1989, constituye un hito en la historia regional del MRTA que divide su trayectoria en la región en dos períodos. La primera etapa, entre 1988 y 1989, se caracterizó por la predominancia de una composición campesina y popular en el movimiento. La segunda etapa, posterior a este enfrentamiento, permitió al MRTA continuar desarrollando trabajo político y militar que le posibilitó sobrevivir hasta 1997.
