Assassination of a Teacher and Her Partner by PCP-SL in Chalcos
On May 26, 1982, a group of approximately 200 members of the Shining Path (PCP-SL), led by an individual known as 'René', entered the community of Chalcos in the Lucanas province of Ayacucho, Peru. They accused a local teacher and her partner, an engineer, of being informants and subsequently murdered them. This event marked a significant moment in the internal conflict in the region, highlighting the violent tactics used by the PCP-SL to assert control and spread their ideology.
En 1982, un individuo identificado como «René» llegó a Chalcos haciéndose pasar por técnico de radios mientras realizaba labores de adoctrinamiento con jóvenes y campesinos. La profesora lo denunció ante la policía. El 26 de mayo, aproximadamente 200 senderistas encabezados por «René» ingresaron a Chalcos y asesinaron a la profesora acusada de soplonaje, junto con su novio, un ingeniero de la CORFA-Ayacucho. Este evento marca la presencia significativa del PCP-SL en los distritos de Chilcayoc, Chalcos y Belén desde 1982.
