The Shining Path PCP murdered eight people in the community of Pallcca in July 1992, one of the last violent events in Ayacucho before the capture of Abimael Guzman.
In July 1992, the Shining Path PCP murdered eight people in the community of Pallcca. This event occurred in the context of the last acts of violence by the PCP-SL in the Ayacucho region, shortly before the capture of Abimael Guzmán in September of that year. The attack took place the month after the Challhuamayo ambush, where 17 people were killed, including local authorities. This was one of the last significant events of violence in rural Ayacucho during the period of extreme crisis of the internal armed conflict.
