Subversives take over Mazamari and kill 7 villagers

On June 19, 1992, subversives took over the town of Mazamari-Dos de Mayo in the province of Satipo. During this armed incursion, the subversives killed 7 villagers. This event occurred in the context of 1992, when violence reached its highest peak in the central region, with dynamite attacks, blackouts, sabotage, assassinations, disappearances, extrajudicial executions, arbitrary detentions and guerrilla combat as daily occurrences. Fear and anxiety had taken hold of the population throughout the region.
