Carlos Boloña's accusation to Alan García and Luz Áurea Saenz

Minister Carlos Boloña Behr accused former President Alan García Pérez and Comptroller Luz Áurea Saenz of politically boycotting the government's economic program, criticizing the Comptroller's intentions to audit SUNAT.

The Minister of Economy, Carlos Boloña Behr, publicly accuses former President Alan García Pérez and the Comptroller General of the Republic, Luz Áurea Saenz, of boycotting the economic program implemented by the government with exclusively political interests. Boloña specifically criticized the Comptroller's intentions to enter the National Superintendence of Tax Administration (SUNAT) to audit the remittance of profits of multilateral companies, which was an attribution of the Central Reserve Bank (BCR). This accusation took place in a context of growing political tension, just two days before the self-coup d'état of April 5, 1992.
