Armed strike called by PCP-SL in Lima

The PCP-SL called for an armed strike in Lima on February 14, 1992 through its city organization. The strike was unsuccessful but several attacks were registered.

The People's Revolutionary Democratic Movement, a city-based organization of the PCP-SL, called for an armed strike throughout Lima on February 14. The strike was unsuccessful in the capital, however, several attacks were carried out during the day. This action was part of the intensification of attacks by the PCP-SL against popular leaders, local authorities and ronderos during February 1992. One day after the strike, on February 15, María Elena Moyano Delgado, leader of the Popular Federation of Women of Villa el Salvador and deputy mayor of the district, was assassinated.
