Dismissal of the complaint against Alan García Pérez
In December 1991, a Supreme Vocal dismissed the Public Prosecutor's complaint against former President Alan García Pérez, closing the process of constitutional accusation for illicit enrichment and against public faith that had been approved by the Chamber of Deputies in October.
A Supreme Vocal dismissed the complaint filed by the Attorney General against former President Alan Garcia Perez. This decision came after in October 1991 the Chamber of Deputies had approved to constitutionally accuse Garcia Perez for alleged charges of illicit enrichment and against public faith, with 95 votes in favor, 57 against and 26 abstentions. The dismissal of the complaint by the Judiciary closed this constitutional impeachment process initiated by Congress.
