Attack on U.S. Embassy Security Personnel

On February 1, 1991, subversives attacked security personnel at the U.S. embassy in Lima with FAL rifles. This was one of the most important attacks registered during that month.

Subversives attacked U.S. embassy security personnel using FAL rifles. This attack was part of a series of violent actions carried out during February 1991. The attack took place in a context of intensifying political violence in the Peruvian capital. Two days after the attack on the embassy, there was another bombing at a Kentucky Fried Chicken store in Miraflores that left several people wounded.
