Murder of 18 people in San Pedro de Cachi

In January 1991, the Peruvian Army killed 18 people in San Pedro de Cachi, Santiago de Pischa, Ayacucho, during the period of intensification of the internal armed conflict.

In January 1991, members of the Peruvian Army (EP) killed 18 people in the town of San Pedro de Cachi, district of Santiago de Pischa. This event was part of the intensification of the internal armed conflict in the region during the 1988-1991 period. The event occurred in a context of generalized violence where both the armed forces and subversive groups committed selective and massive assassinations in the area.
