Occupation of the Japanese Ambassador's Residence by MRTA
In November 1996, the Committee for Human Rights (CODEH) protested against the arbitrary detention of General (r) Rodolfo Robles and the occupation by assault of the Japanese ambassador's residence by members of the MRTA. This event was part of a series of violent incidents in Peru during the 1990s, involving various groups and leading to international attention.
En noviembre de 1996, el CODEH se manifestó ante la ocupación por asalto de la residencia del embajador del Japón por elementos del MRTA. En abril de 1997, el CODEH manifestó su satisfacción por la liberación de los rehenes y expresó su profundo sentimiento por la pérdida de vidas humanas ocasionada por este evento.
