La Cantuta Kidnapping and Disappearance
In July 1992, shortly after the Tarata bombing, a professor and nine students from La Cantuta University were kidnapped and disappeared. This event occurred during a period of intense violence and unrest in Peru, leading to widespread calls for sensible military measures that would not punish innocents. The incident became a significant point of discussion regarding human rights violations in the country.
El 18 de julio, militares realizaron una incursión en la residencia estudiantil de la Universidad Enrique Guzmán y Valle «La Cantuta».
