On February 20, 1990, the PCP-SL assassinated Juan Chacaltana and his assistant, two officials of FAMESA (Fábrica de Mechas S.A.), as part of its strategy of attacking company officials in charge of labor relations.

Assassination attempt on Alberto Nakangawa of FAMESA
On April 25, 1991, the PCP-SL attempted to assassinate Alberto Nakangawa, manager of FAMESA, leaving him seriously wounded. This was another assassination attempt against business officials.
