   Assassination of Hugo Bustíos

   On November 24, 1988, journalists Hugo Bustíos and Eduardo Rojas were ambushed while traveling on a motorcycle near Quinrapata, Peru. Despite identifying themselves as journalists, they were fired upon by assailants with covered faces. Bustíos was severely injured and later killed when an explosive device was placed on his body.
