Marcha de los Cuatro Suyos

The Marcha de los Cuatro Suyos was a three-day protest led by former presidential candidate Alejandro Toledo against the fraudulent re-election of President Alberto Fujimori. The protest began peacefully but escalated on July 28, 2000, when demonstrators clashed with police, leading to acts of vandalism and arson in central Lima. A fire at the Banco de la Nación resulted in the deaths of six security employees due to asphyxiation.
