Testimony of Evaristo Contreras Huamán

On May 19, 2013, Evaristo Contreras Huamán described how the violence affected the population, which was caught between the confrontation of terrorists and the Fuerzas Armadas (Armed Forces). During the period of violence, Contreras held a public office, which put his life in danger, but his fellow townspeople defended him. He now notes that displaced persons have organized to address the aftermath suffered by the population as a result of the violence that took place from 1980 to 2000. Information gathered during the production of the documentary "Nada queda sino nuestra ternura," directed by Sébastien Jallade and produced by Documental Peruano (2017).
