"Te saludan los cabitos" represents an immersion into the terror imposed by troops of the Peruvian Army at the Los Cabitos barracks in Ayacucho, a place that, in the 1980s, became a clandestine center for detention, torture, and extrajudicial executions — acts perpetrated by the soldiers stationed there in the name of fighting terrorism, but who themselves became executioners of the population.
