"Chungui, horror without tears". Documentary
A documentary film directed by filmmaker Felipe Degregori. Through the work of Ayacuchan retablo artist Edilberto Jiménez, "Chungui, horror sin lágrimas" (Chungui, Horror Without Tears) shows how this visual artist has dedicated himself to recovering the memory of survivors of the violence of the Peruvian internal armed conflict of 1980-2000. To do so, the retablo artist draws on the stories of the inhabitants of the community of Chungui (Ayacucho), one of the most severely affected by the terror imposed by both terrorist groups and members of the armed forces.
