Military Officers Condemn the Coup of April 5, 1992 and Offer Apologies to Citizens
The Commanders General of the Air Force, Navy, Army and the Director General of the Policía Nacional del Perú declared yesterday that the agreements in the submission act signed by the high commands on March 13, 1999—endorsing, among other things, the coup of April 5, 1992, the conduct of the de facto government of Fujimori and those who commanded the FFAA and the PNP, as well as the amnesty laws that freed members of the FFAA and PNP who participated in the anti-terrorist struggle—are null and void.
