USAID Hopes Peru's Sterilization Campaign Will End
The Peruvian government has formally committed to taking immediate and effective measures, which should have been announced yesterday, to ensure proper care, consent and the expressed wishes of men and women in its family planning policy. This is what the Agencia Internacional para el Desarrollo (USAID) asserts in a statement issued yesterday, while at the same time disclaiming any responsibility for the tubal ligation and vasectomy campaigns.
