Inter-American Court of Human Rights Convicts the Peruvian State in the Santa Bárbara Case
The Inter-American Court of Human Rights issued its judgment on the merits in the case of Santa Bárbara vs. Peru. It condemned the State for the violation of the rights to personal liberty, personal integrity, life, and the rights of the child of 15 peasants from the Santa Bárbara Community (Huancavelica), as well as the rights to judicial guarantees and judicial protection of the victims and their families.
