National Criminal Court Issues Troubling Contradictory Verdict In

Judges established that the murder of an elderly woman and the enforced disappearance of a minor in Ayacucho in 1984 was part of a systematic practice of the Peruvian Army, but acquitted the two military personnel tried for those crimes. For COMISEDH, the reasoning behind this decision creates a scenario in which it would be unfeasible to identify those indirectly responsible for serious human rights violations committed during the period of violence that affected our country.
