Showy and Misguided
The impressive raid against Movadef, which took place last week, might suggest, judging by the resources mobilized, that the Peruvian government responded on all fronts to a major, clear, and imminent threat. Deploying combined forces of the Police and the Armed Forces, along with dozens of prosecutors, against a defeated, vanquished organization with a very high proportion of prisoners and elderly members, several of them in frank vital entropy, makes no sense.
