The partner and soon-to-be wife of Abimael Guzmán speaks with CARETAS. The woman who symbolized the power behind the Senderista leader will turn 60 in the coming months. She hopes to do so as the woman married to Abimael Guzmán Reynoso. Sentenced to life imprisonment, from prison she directs and organizes the 300 Senderistas held in the maximum-security section of the Santa Mónica penitentiary. She has them prepare press summaries of what is happening in Peru and around the world, encourages them to dance (a workshop run by Maritza Garrido Lecca), and tries to convince them that the armed struggle that cost tens of thousands of lives was worth it. This is the testimony of a terrorist leader for whom the word repentance does not exist.
