Villanueva Toro Case: The National Criminal Court Convicted General Paz Figueroa
The Sala Penal Nacional has just issued an important ruling in the case of the enforced disappearance of Rubén Aparicio Villanueva Toro, a crime perpetrated on March 25, 1990 in the town of Lircay, in the department of Huancavelica. This court has sentenced Army General Carlos Alberto Paz Figueroa and Army Commander Yorvil Demetrio Távara Olea to 15 years' imprisonment, having found them responsible for the crime.
