The Disappeared in Peru Matter to Us
The Final Report of the Comisión de la Verdad y Reconciliación reported approximately 69,000 persons disappeared in the context of political violence that occurred in the period 1980–2000 in our country. It also established that during the years 1988 to 1993, enforced disappearance was one of the counter-subversive mechanisms systematically employed by State agents.
