Carlos Iván Degregori's Path
"A certain mystery surrounds the Partido Comunista del Perú-Sendero Luminoso." With these words Carlos Iván Degregori (CID) opened his first "academic" publication on the subject in early 1985. Two factors — the "extremely scarce" written information accompanying the subversive actions and the confusion sown by the media — contributed, in his view, to maintaining that mystery.
