Earlier this week, the newspaper La República distributed 80,000 free copies of the documentary La Cantuta: En la boca del Diablo, produced by TV Cultura and directed by Amanda Gonzales. By 11:30 a.m. that same day, the copies had run out — not only due to public enthusiasm but also because all indications are that there was a mass purchase by Fujimorista sympathizers to prevent its circulation and to keep people from being reminded of the savagery at this terrifying moment when the daughter of the person responsible for this crime may become Peru's future president.
