THE CONSTITUTIONAL COURT'S CHALLENGE IN THE EL FRONTÓN CASE
The Constitutional Tribunal has announced that on August 27 of this year it will hold a hearing for the parties to present their arguments in the El Frontón case. The high court of constitutional jurisdiction is on the verge of making a decision of utmost importance and significance for the constitutional rule of law and fundamental rights in Peru. Indeed, with this decision, the new composition of the high court is not only wagering much of its prestige, independence, and credibility, but it will also send a signal about the new winds that will blow through this collegial body in the times to come.
