Open Wound: The Murder of Abel Malpartida
Martha Páez has lived in exile in Sweden since 1989. Every year she returns to Peru to check on the progress of the judicial process concerning her son's murder and to leave flowers at the plaque dedicated to him at the Universidad Católica. His name was Abel Malpartida and he was a student of industrial engineering. On July 27, 1989, his head was found in a sandy area of San Bartolo. Twenty-three years have passed since that mournful event that changed the lives of Martha and her family.
