THE JUDICIALIZATION OF HUMAN RIGHTS VIOLATIONS IN PERU
The Comisión de la Verdad y Reconciliación (CVR) was tasked with investigating the crimes and human rights violations perpetrated from 1980 through the end of the conflict as a result of the internal armed conflict that our country suffered during those years. At the end of August 2003 the CVR presented its Final Report to the country. Likewise, the CVR submitted to the Ministerio Público 47 cases of serious human rights violations for investigation and referral to the judiciary. This report aims to provide an account of the conditions and status of those cases, as well as the individuals included in those investigations.
