Ombudsman's Report No. 86: One Year Since the Truth Commission

The Final Report of the Comisión de la Verdad y Reconciliación (CVR) has brought to light the magnitude of the serious human rights violations that occurred in the country during recent decades. Therefore, it is not possible to tolerate impunity or indifference, but rather to pursue truth, justice, and reparation. With this purpose we committed our greatest institutional efforts, given that the work of criminal justice in the face of serious human rights violations is one of the most complex, difficult, and at the same time most significant tasks of the post-CVR period.
