Ombudsman's Report No. 27: The Application of Surgical Contraception and Reproductive Rights II. Cases Investigated by the Ombudsman's Office

From June 1997 to May 1999, the Defensoría del Pueblo received and investigated a total of 157 cases concerning alleged irregularities in the implementation of the Programa de Salud Reproductiva-Planificación Familiar 1996-2000, overseen by the Ministerio de Salud. The first 9 cases were presented in Ombudsman Report No. 7, "The implementation of voluntary surgical contraception. Cases investigated by the Defensoría del Pueblo." I.
