The Truth That Reconciles in Justice
There is already a series of Truth Commission experiences and a conceptual framework on the subject that must serve as references in building our own path. For any country living between anxiety and hope, a process of democratic affirmation through which to overcome a past of grave, widespread, and unpunished human rights violations, creating a Truth and Reconciliation Commission is a significant challenge. The mere creation of the Commission already shows an explicit willingness not to close the past in pure and strict legal oblivion, which can take the form of total amnesty without prior truth.
