Let the Innocent Make Way for the Guilty
A sign that times are changing for the better is that the democratic government of Valentín Paniagua chose as one of its first symbolic acts the freeing of innocent prisoners. With sound judgment, the Minister of Justice, Diego García Sayán, decided that those already recommended by the Ad Hoc Commission should be released "right away," and has pledged that it will be a priority of his administration that not a single innocent person remain in prison. We are certain that it will be so.
