THE RULING IN THE TELMO HURTADO HURTADO CASE
The fight against impunity is like a novel delivered in installments. It takes time, but the full plot almost always becomes known. A few months ago this magazine revealed that Second Lieutenant Telmo Hurtado Hurtado, responsible for one of the largest massacres of civilians in the country's history, remained in the Army and continued to be promoted until he reached the rank of Major. On this occasion we offer new documentation for the clarification of this paradigmatic case: the military court's judgment convicting (and acquitting) Hurtado — a judicial decision kept under lock and key until today.
