Forensic Anthropology: A New Horizon in Peru

In Peru, this discipline is a recent field, developed in recent years. And it was not the vigor of forensic or anthropological disciplines that resulted in its emergence, but an external demand outside academic cloisters: the unveiling of what had occurred years earlier. It is no secret to anyone now that political violence in this country cost thousands of lives of soldiers, subversives, ronderos, peasants, and civilians who found themselves caught in the middle of the violence by one group or another.
