In Chaupiorcco, Apurímac, 16 residents were disappeared by the Armed Forces. After more than 20 years, a mass grave was found in which, following DNA testing, 5 of the murdered individuals could be identified. Nothing is known about the rest. Despite the evidence, no legal proceedings have yet been initiated in this case.
