Current Crisis in Peru
This document describes the situation following the prison riots and killings, including the likely resignation of the Minister of Justice and the Minister of the Interior. Police detained during the Lurigancho investigation will remain under the responsibility of police authorities and have not been transferred to Canto Grande prison as promised. Navy forces have also recently been implicated in the media for summarily executing prisoners at El Frontón prison.
