Peru: Former Paramilitary Leader Captured
Peruvian authorities captured on Monday one of the most wanted men by the country's justice system. He is Santiago Martín Rivas, former leader of the paramilitary group "Colina," a squad of the Army Intelligence Service that operated under the orders of Vladimiro Montesinos. This group is held responsible for killing 15 people in the Lima district of Barrios Altos in 1991 and for the massacre of nine students and a professor at the capital's La Cantuta university a year later.
