Belaunde Does Not Want the Peruvian Army to Act Against Terrorists
Twenty-six people died, according to the first official count, in clashes last Sunday morning between guerrillas and police in the district of Vilcashuaman, province of Cangallo, department of Ayacucho. The head of state stated at a press conference that the army would not intervene to suppress the terrorists.
