The Demands of Peace
A couple of weeks ago, the beginning of a dialogue seemed to be taking shape from the proposal—somewhat confused, it is true, but which constituted a first step—of forming a commission of guarantors. Unfortunately, in recent days a series of events have poisoned the atmosphere. The worst moment came with the unfortunate—to say the least—decision to challenge the captors, and in passing to affect the hostages, with military parades and marches, and even with provocative gestures. The fear that a violent entry into the residence was being planned gained strength once again.
