PERU: The Truth and Reconciliation Commission — A First Step Toward a Country Without Injustice
One year after the publication of the Final Report of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Peru, Amnesty International presents its report Peru: The Truth and Reconciliation Commission – a first step towards a country without injustice, AMR 46/003/2004, which summarizes the Commission's main conclusions and recommendations. In the report, in addition to supporting the Commission's extensive recommendations, Amnesty International includes a series of recommendations to the Peruvian authorities to advance toward the right to truth, justice, and reparation for victims of abuses and human rights violations, and to prevent the recurrence of the tragic events that took place during the internal armed conflict.
