Strengthening the Specialized Prosecutor's Office for Forced Disappearances, Extrajudicial Executions and Exhumations

This Final Report for the consultancy of Project PERO2U39-00014429, Strengthening of the Specialized Prosecutor's Office for Forced Disappearances, Extrajudicial Executions, and Exhumations, was prepared between August 4 and September 8, 2006, by the contracted experts: Francisco de León, Licentiate in Archaeology and Forensic Anthropologist, and Leonardo Gabriel Filippini, Lawyer and Professor of Law. The general objective of the project is to contribute to national reconciliation in Peru by supporting the work of the Ministerio Público in fulfilling the recommendations of the Comisión de la Verdad y Reconciliación (CVR) through the functional implementation of its intervention strategy regarding exhumations. The specific objective is to promote the efficient execution of a program of simultaneous exhumations by the Specialized Prosecutor's Office.
