The Closer, the Further Away
Victims in the photographs of violence from the Comisión de la Verdad y Reconciliación del Perú. This work is part of the project for my Master's thesis in Communication and Culture at the Universidad de Buenos Aires on "Photography and Memory of Political Violence in Peru," and my participation in the research group "Fotografía, memoria y archivos. Políticas y poéticas de la mirada nacionalitaria" (Ubacyt S445) of the Faculty of Social Sciences of the same university. From this perspective, I propose to investigate the "truth" operations upon which the figure of the victim is constructed in the photographic narrative presented by the Comisión de la Verdad y Reconciliación del Perú in 2003.
