THE HIDDEN COUNTRY. Photographic Exhibition
On Friday, March 26, 2010, the photographic exhibition Pakasqa Suyu (The Hidden Country): The Paths of Memory and Collective Reparations was inaugurated in the park of Miraflores. The exhibition, funded by the Agencia Española de Cooperación Internacional, presents 100 large-format photographs taken by the lens of Óscar Medrano of CARETAS, portraying the highland Andean and jungle communities affected by terrorist violence who today, in accordance with the recommendations of the Final Report of the Comisión de la Verdad y Reconciliación, are beginning to receive reparations through the CMAN (Comisión Multisectorial de Alto Nivel), in the form of projects chosen by themselves. The exhibition was curated and coordinated by journalist Enrique Chávez and had the advisory support of renowned photographer Jorge Deustua.
