Hunting Shining Path

Three thousand troops, helicopters, surveillance posts, and military control in nearly every town in the Ene valley. CARETAS was there and witnessed the tension gripping this zone, which at the beginning of this decade was the scene of continuous armed incursions and fertile ground for subversive camps (such as the one in the photo with which we open this report), and which even today shows signs of being trapped in a spiral of political violence.
